Bulk-pack hex weld nuts in 18-8 (A2) Stainless Steel to DIN 929. Hexagon body to DIN 929, with three equally spaced projections and a centre pilot ring that locates the nut in the pilot hole. Weld nuts give a permanent, reusable thread in sheet metal that is too thin to tap. The small raised projections concentrate the current of a resistance (spot) welder and melt down, fusing the nut flush to the workpiece; the thread is then captive and cannot spin or fall out. Standard in automotive, enclosure, bracketry, chassis and appliance fabrication. 3 sizes (M3-0.5–M8-1.25). Sold in bulk multiples.
