Technical Specs & Fastener Identification
Choosing the right fastener starts with understanding the key specifications. This page explains how to read the sizing, material, and performance data you will find on every Fastenio product page.
Thread Size (Diameter & Pitch)
Imperial fasteners use a designation like 1/4-20, which means 1/4 inch diameter with 20 threads per inch. Metric fasteners use a format like M6 x 1.0, meaning 6 mm diameter with a 1.0 mm pitch. Every product on Fastenio shows the thread size in the specs table.

Material & Grade
Most of our catalog is 18-8 stainless steel (also called 304 stainless), which offers excellent corrosion resistance for outdoor, marine, and food-grade applications. We also carry 316 stainless for higher corrosion environments and other specialty materials.

Finish
The finish describes any surface treatment applied after manufacturing. Common finishes include plain (natural), zinc plated, black oxide, and hot-dip galvanized. Stainless steel fasteners are most often sold with a plain finish since the base material already resists corrosion.
Head Style & Drive Type
Head style describes the shape of the fastener head (hex, flat, pan, button, socket cap, etc.). Drive type describes the tool interface (hex socket / Allen, Phillips, slotted, Torx). Choose based on clearance, torque needs, and tool availability.
How to Use This Information
Every Fastenio product page lists diameter, thread pitch, length, material, grade, finish, head style, and drive type. Use the catalog filters to narrow down by any combination of these specs.
