#8 x 1-5/8" bugle head deck screws in 18-8 stainless steel, with a six-lobe Torx recess for high torque with minimal cam-out. The bugle head has a curved underside that seats into the board without tearing the surface fibers. The Type 17 point has a cutting notch that drills its own pilot as it goes, which reduces splitting near board ends. The coarse thread runs partway up the shank, so the board pulls down tight to the framing. 18-8 stainless resists corrosion outdoors and will not stain cedar or redwood the way plated steel can. Sold in production-volume bulk packs.
