#12-24 x 3" hex washer head self drilling screws (tek screws) with a #3 drill point, in 18-8 stainless steel to IFI-113. The drill point cuts its own hole and the machine thread (12-24) taps it in one step, with no pilot hole, in steel about 0.100" to 0.175" thick (12 to 7 ga). The hex head has a built-in washer face that spreads the load, with a 5/16" external hex for a nut driver or socket. 18-8 stainless self-drillers are softer than 410 and are best for aluminium and light-gauge steel; for heavier steel use 410. Sold in production-volume bulk packs.
